Pregnancy & Obstetric Ultrasound
Pregnancy ultrasound plays a vital role in monitoring fetal growth, development, and overall maternal health. Dr. Devashree Salunkhe, Consultant Radiologist and Sonologist, offers comprehensive and accurate pregnancy scan services in Hadapsar at The Ultrasound Clinic.
With advanced ultrasound technology and evidence-based practices, pregnancy scans are performed to ensure early detection, proper monitoring, and timely medical guidance throughout pregnancy.
Obstetric Ultrasound Services Include:
Early Pregnancy Scan / Viability Scan / Dating Scan
This scan is done in early pregnancy to confirm the presence of a gestational sac and fetal heartbeat. It helps determine the exact gestational age and expected delivery date. It also checks whether the pregnancy is developing normally and rules out conditions such as ectopic pregnancy.
NT Scan (12–13 Weeks)
NT scan is a first-trimester screening test used to assess the risk of chromosomal abnormalities. It measures the fluid at the back of the baby’s neck and evaluates early fetal anatomy. This scan plays an important role in early pregnancy risk assessment and planning further care.
Early Anomaly Scan (16–18 Weeks)
An early anomaly scan helps in the preliminary evaluation of fetal organs before the routine anomaly scan. It allows early detection of major structural abnormalities. This scan provides reassurance or helps in timely medical decision-making.
Anomaly Scan (19–20 Weeks)
The anomaly scan is a detailed ultrasound that examines the baby’s organs, spine, brain, heart, limbs, and abdominal structures. It helps assess fetal growth and detect structural abnormalities. This scan is a key part of routine pregnancy care.
Fetal Echocardiography (22–24 Weeks)
Fetal echocardiography is a specialized ultrasound used to study the structure and function of the baby’s heart. It is recommended when there is a risk of congenital heart disease. The scan helps in early diagnosis and appropriate prenatal planning.
Growth Scan (28 Weeks Onwards)
Growth scans are done in the later stages of pregnancy to monitor the baby’s growth and position. It evaluates fetal weight, amniotic fluid levels, and overall well-being. Regular monitoring helps ensure healthy pregnancy progress.
Growth Scan with Doppler Assessment
This scan combines fetal growth evaluation with Doppler assessment of blood flow. It helps assess placental function and blood circulation between the mother and baby. Doppler studies are especially useful in high-risk pregnancies.
3D Obstetric Ultrasound
3D ultrasound provides detailed three-dimensional images of the fetus. It helps in better visualization of fetal facial features and certain anatomical structures. This scan can support clinical evaluation along with standard 2D ultrasound.
4D Obstetric Ultrasound
4D ultrasound shows real-time movements of the fetus during the scan. It allows observation of facial expressions, limb movements, and overall activity. This scan provides additional insights into fetal development.
