Choosing your appointment slot
Arriving for your appointment:
Check-in 15 minutes before your appointed time, so the slot remains allotted to you.
In case you are being delayed, please speak on___________________; the desk will reassign a time to you, and allot your slot to another patient if he would prefer to finish earlier.
We would prefer if 2 persons attend the consultation only, this helps maintain social distancing. Let us know in case a third person is likely to accompany you. More persons could gladly join virtually.
Though principles of Infection Control were well known before, the Covid pandemic has reinforced the need to re-visit them. Covid-19 is just another respiratory borne infection amongst many other germs that have always been there, thus “Covid lessons” will endure.
Asha Clinic prides itself in making your clinic visit as safe as it is possible.
- We save time: We are strict about punctuality, and the Front Office ensures you will not be waiting at the Clinic for longer than you need.
- Risk free registration process: Our Registration Process could be completed virtually; else it could be done contactless onsite.
- Hand sanitization: We have identified “High Contact Points”, and ensure access to ‘hand sanitization’ at these points.
- Aerosols and infection risk: Each room has a separate AHU, thus ensuring there is no mixing of air, thus persistence of germs.
- The toilets have contactless door opening, faucets with motion sensors and air hand dryers. Lights in the toilets have motion sensors.
- Contactless door opening: Doors to all rooms can be opened in both directions without hand contact.
- Social distancing during consultations: please come for your appointment with one accompanying person only. Let us know in case a third person absolutely needs to join. Parents / responsible Care-givers could attend virtually.
We have processes for disinfection to prevent cross transmission of infection.
- All surfaces are disinfected per protocol at pre determined times. Covid may not survive on surfaces for long, but other germs do.
- Patient monitoring devices that come in contact with the skin are disinfected after every use.
- Medical examinations which have a high risk of picking up germs on soiled hands are planned to be done at specific areas only. From the “Point of soiling of hands” till the “Point of hand washing”, all access to disposables, access to examination equipment, access to waste disposal, etc; has been planned to be “Contactless”. Thus at our clinic, there is no risk hands will accidentally touch furniture and leave germs on them.
- Internal examination: Examination devices that come in contact with an “internal surface” are either single use, or are sterilized after every use ; each has a written protocol that is followed by the staff.
- Access to waste disposal is contactless, and there is a planned segregation of waste at source as per PMC (Pune Municipal Corporation) norms.
- Any spill of body fluids (vomitus, etc) is attended by the staff with a defined “Spill Policy” as well as a “HazMat Policy.
Closing the Consultation:
- Financial transactions can be completed contactless. Hard cash is stored in UV light sterilizers.
Your records could be availed as hard copies, as well as soft copies sent to you in email.
Clean the surfaces with an alcohol based sanitizer (in case you have never done this before, our reception staff could guide you how). The surface of the phone should be clean of germs; you may be handing over the phone (to the receptionist – to show the appointment details; or, to the doctor – to show soft copies of reports).
Make sure you have enough charge to last the duration of the consultation. There is a charging point in the reception for a last minute top-up. (It’s most convenient to have your own charger).
While entering the Consultation room, we would appreciate you putting your cell on the ‘airplane mode’; it would be good not to receive a call.
As doctors, we are obliged to take a phone call in an emergency, when we would limit the interruption to 2-5 minutes. All our other incoming professional calls are organized to be attended to between consultations.
Children are a bundle of Joy!
Meeting thriving kids who have been attended to is rewarding when they return as visitors. We are acutely conscious about their safety in our health-care environment.
It is comforting to know that you will tend to infants in your care. If you need to change a nappy, our staff will be glad to assist you, and then see the waste is disposed as recommended. Other than infants, all children will be treated as responsible “young adults”. This visit could be a great opportunity for you to teach them how to protect oneself, while visiting a “high risk health care setting”.
Conducting consultations in presence of accompanying children.
We always try to give our undivided attention to you when you are visitng us for a medical consultation. If a visiting child is seen to have a potential of risking itself in a health care facility, the moral duty to prevent harm may distract us and affect the care we give you. You could also choose for your chjild to wait with a responsible adult in the lobby of the Clinic premises.
Patients who will need to remain in a long term follow up will value having all medical data available serially and sequenced for ready reference at any time. Traditionally, we have been giving hard copies of all relevant records added into the patient file. The same file is invaluable while coming for a follow up visit.
Following the pandemic, it has become important to be able to seamlessly connect to the doctor virtually for follow up, when it is too risky to visit a Health Care facility for trivial reasons. Every visit also generates more records regarding prescriptions and lab reports. These documents are presently being added to the record file for future reference.
We have also been generating records of lab reports on a time line, which give a snapshot of important lab values that are being followed long term. Presently this is being done on an Excel sheet customized for the medical condition being followed in that patient.
It would be important that this entire file; which already exists as a soft copy, be available as a SINGLE CONSOLIDATED PDF FILE that has been updated till the last visit.
You could very well take away your reports and consultation records either as hard or soft copies and maintain a file. Else, we could organize this file and update is as a single file in pdf format that could be retrieved quickly.
