Copper T (Cu-T): is a copper releasing intra uterine device available for 10 years, 5 years and 3 years
Mirena is a progesterone releasing IUD meant for reducing dysfunctional uterine bleeding. It can be used for 5 years. Contraceptive effect is also achieved.
The IUD can be inserted in the OPD setting on the 5th or 6th day following the periods.
